Farmington NM Senior Portrait Photographer | Salmon Ruins | featuring Nate Rodgers

This turned out to be a much cooler shoot that we anticipated. We tried to do a family portrait/senior portrait shoot at the same time. (note to self: break up sessions from now on) It's just too hard to allocate the proper attention to the subject doing 2 separate shoots at the same locations.

So, we took Nate out again and ended up at Salmon Ruins. As we ascended down into this historic native american land mark, my first thoughts were, "This is a gold mine!" There were so many cool elements to shoot against there. I'm really anxious to go back and try a shoot there again. We went in the evening, I'm really interested to see the contrast in lighting when shot in the morning. Anyway, Nate was a good sport about it all, and you can just tell that he's a really great guy. I anticipate he will be very successful in his life. It was a pleasure to shoot you again, and good luck in your academic adventures.

Farmington NM Studio Portrait Photography | Trotter Photography Studios | The Little Family

So we finally got an opportunity to get back in the studio by invitation and the Little Family made it an amazing experience for us. I've known Jason since grade school. If I had half the ambition and work ethic that Jason has I'd been leaps and bounds from where I am today. I was pretty honored to be asked to shoot their family, and as you can see they made for some amazing photos.

Post production proved to be an amazing experiment with textures. Of course I wanted to edit the shoot to reflect the natural setting in the studio, but then I went another round experimenting with textures. I received some very cool textures from a great local photographer Jessica Finch which turned out very cool. I also have been taking time to photograph my own images for textures whenever I'm on locations that have interesting texture elements. Anyway we were really excited with the results.

These kids were amazingly photogenic and super cool to work with. We really appreciated the opportunity to reconnect with an old friend. It was nice to have the added pressure to produce results. Thank you very much you guys for taking a chance on us. We had a blast.

Farmington NM Senior Portrait Photographer | Hogback Trading Post | featuring Tyler Hough

OK Senior Portrait shoots have officially become the coolest shoots ever. For whatever reason, it's just easy to break out of conformity and explore new creative territory. Male model Tyler Hogue made this shoot a breeze. He was droppin magnum all over the place. It's been very cool to get to know him. He's currently preparing to go on a mission which is admirable for anyone young guy his age. You can tell by his likable and kick back personality that he's going to be a great missionary. Thanks for letting us shoot you dude. We had a blast!

Hogback Trading post is a little retro gold mine for shoots. I can't wait to go and shoot this place again. I believe the Tanner line in my family had some involvement with this place. We love finding these little rustic gems in the four corners area. Super cool!

That's right ladies...this guy is soon to be "Off Limits" for 2 years. Get a bite while you still can. :)

Farmington NM Senior Portrait Photographer | Vintage | featuring "Elvis" Presley Paxson

I hope Presley isn't offended by our making reference to "Elvis" with this shoot. This had to have been one of the coolest shoots to date. It was one of those experiences where all the elements came together in "break through" combinations. Interestingly, we've could've shot anyone at these locations, but for whatever reason we knew that he was the man for the job...and there was chemistry from the first fire. Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed producing them.

You can tell by how natural it is for someone to smile, how good a person they are on the inside. For the brief time we got to know Presley it quickly became obvious that he was genuinely good guy. He was totally willing to have fun and experiment which always makes for great results.

First time shooting a State Soccer Champion. Nice work Scorps!

Really tried the push the boundaries with manipulating background colors. I think these vintage looking treatments turn out pretty cool. Looks like a shot from the 60's..."with a really small cell phone".

It's interesting how Senior Portrait shoots have become a standard amongst graduating students. This was not the case in the early 90's (ouch!). I often wondered what my senior photo shoot would've been like. I really wish I had some sweet mullet shots to look back on. Actually, now that I think about it, maybe that's a good thing I never took those pictures.

Hard core rider from what I hear...
So thank you Presley for giving us the opportunity to take your senior photos. We wish you the best as you venture off into the world of college. You seem like a great guy...keep up the good work man.

Farmington New Mexico Prom Portraits featuring Adam & Morgen

I truly feel like I married into one of the coolest families on the planet. I'm so grateful that Nora has them as examples in her life....especially Morgen. My sweet wife spent the day as the hair stylist / make-up artist. I thought she did a fantastic job. (she's amazingly talented at anything she puts her mind too. it's pretty cool) The end result...the photos speak for themselves.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, most guys aren't mature enough to realize how special Morgen is. They'll realize it later in life, and kick themselves for not treating her like royalty. This Adam guy....well the jury is still out on him as far as I'm concerned. Some refer to him as "the body of an angel".

I too once had the body of an angel. Nice chizzled abs. Big fluffy wings. But as we all know, those things fade. When the reality of life sets in, and you realize the true purpose of our start bingeing on ice cream and kiss those wings good bye. Actually he seems like an extremely upstanding young man and we were all glad to see that he and Morgen had such a great time together. Apparently he kept his wings in his tuxedo coat for the night...which was "the right" thing to do. Anyway, I love this sis in law...she's as photogenic as they get. Thanks for letting us capture the moment.

What was your favorite "Prom Memory"?

Farmington NM Family & Senior Portrait Photographer | Farmington NM | Rodgers Family

So first off we'd like to thank the Rodgers family for not only allowing us to do their family portraits, but for indulging our experimentations with location. What an awesome family! For some reason this shoot turned out to be all about angles and experimenting with different perspectives. This was an AM shoot and we were blessed with a bit of an overcast which worked very nice.

With each family, senior, child, or infant portrait photography session, inevitably the photos will vary based solely on the personality of the subject. I try to never anticipate what the shootis going to turn out like because it always ends up totally different than anticipated. Every member of this family seemed to be distinctly unique...and those unique personality characteristics clearly popped out in the photos.

I could'nt help but get very edgy, cool, looks with this dude. Very photogenic!

Cool door!

Again thank you for an awesome experience, we're looking forward to doing some senior photos with Nate coming soon!
